It was not intended to be a statement about your intelligence, Valkyrie. I simply did not want to waste my time, or yours.
Very well. Illusions are different than conjuring. It is difficult to conjure items out of absolute nothingness. It should come from something else, or be drawn from somewhere else if readily available. I must turn one thing into another. If I send that thing away or try to retrieve it, it has to go to an already chosen place, or it will randomly end up wheresoever it ends up, unintended. That includes moving people, including myself, which requires a great amount of focus to not maim or kill everyone involved. Such magic exacts a personal toll depending on the size and scope. One of the first lessons mother taught, was if I conjured something large from nothing, I might pay a dear price for having done so.
As we have found out, there are times when spells can go tragically wrong. What more can be expected of Midgardians playing at sorcery, meddling with powers they can not fully comprehend nor hope to control.
This is why I can not conjure a car for us. It would be someone else's car, therefore obtained through thievery, which goes against King Thor's wishes. We could put the couch outside and turn it into a car, but Lady Darcy remains adamant that it remain a couch and nothing else.
Now that I've likely bored you to tears - that I would still like to obtain - we must utilize what is known as a taxi so that we can have iced cream.
