Day 90.

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy this holiday. I was standing on the street, in line to grab a cup of coffee from a little shop while I was on my walk, and I saw some kids running by in their costumes. Little witches and vampires. I even saw little Captain Americas and Iron Mans.

I remember what it was like to be so carefree. I doubt the tower will get any Trick-or-Treaters. That's a bit of a shame.

You trying to keep count of how long you've been some place?

Some of the costumes are pretty inventive, nothing like what I've seen in the past.

It reminds me where I come from, and where I am now. It reminds me there may be many more days to come.

I don't know, it seems a bit foolish. Maybe I should give it up and just... exist in the present.

I'm not sure I could do something like that. That's not to say that I don't remember where myself and my sister grew up and was raised. Or how we ended up where we were.

Living in the present can be hard. I have a hard time, sometimes, but that's only due to knowing what I do about myself and what happened to me.

At first it was just a way to keep track of where and when I was. Now it's become... I don't know. Almost like a prisoner making tallies on the wall? Not to say this place is like a prison--I absolutely love it here--but that's what it reminds me of.

I imagine that would be hard to forget.

It's a mix. Vanilla with orange-vanilla frosting, chocolate with some kind of chocolate pudding inside and Oreo crumble on top, an eyeball cupcake that's also vanilla with red Bavarian cream, and then some kind of salted caramel thing.
