Day 29: Returned

Madripoor is still there, just as I remembered it. Only a bit more vivid than before. the colors brighter, the smells stronger, the sounds louder. Perhaps this is what happens when a person wakes up in a new world: it feels a bit over the top from what she remembered before.

Did I miss anything else unusual happening while I was gone?

No plans yet. It's fine. I'm not really expecting to.

It's been busy, huh? But yeah, exploring needs to happen. Or at least getting away from the Tower to sample the local cuisine.

Probably going to continue but I'm not putting any pressure on him for something serious or committed just to me, at this stage.

It has. Leading things from half-way across the world is a big ordeal. I'd love to get away from the Tower and away from my computer. Make me leave my phone in my room.

Do you feel in over your head a little? Not saying you can't handle it. It's just a big empire - impressive, don't get me wrong. You're definitely impressive. But a big undertaking.

Not necessarily. I'm open to keeping things open. Though I guess it depends on how you define commitment.

Honestly? When I first arrived here, a part of me wanted to hang it up. It was a bit of relief--I could just... exist. In the tower. Heal my gunshot wound, "retire," and just be for a while.

I'm not good at sitting still.

How do you define commitment?
