Your time has value. Surely you wish to spend more of it with your bride and less of it researching spells for things New Asgard could do more simply. And you are also taking up most of the paperwork of ruling, so your time is taken up that work as well. It's not an insult to your capacity to say that you, like all of us, should spend your time where it will have the best and most significant results. It shows respect for your time to think that your magic and study shouldn't be wasted.
Having said that, three days is not so significant and I would certainly appreciate the effort for a small prison. I am more concerned about what it would take to build a prison that could, for example, hold someone like the Hulk.
My thought about letting Midgard imprison attackers that we cannot imprison easily is not about asking for aid. Any attack that comes against the strength of New Asgard is likely, as a matter of our size and location, to have had significant effects on the whole of the planet. Honoring their jurisdiction over foes who have also attacked Midgard relieves us of the matter of imprisoning of them and also respects Midgard's generosity as our hosts. I do not suggest we give them Asgardian technology; as you say, they had a cell that held you for a time. They do not need our help even though our work would be superior.
It seems we agree on our overall strategic aims and perhaps on most of the details of implementation. I merely take a somewhat different approach, which is to be expected given the differences in our training and areas of influence.
