Who: Thor, Okoye
What: Sparring
When: Sunday afternoon (Backdated: 9/9/18)
Rating/Warnings: Greenish/yellow (Because of sparing)
With the recent events coming to light, Okoye was sent to New York to lend aid when needed. Their numbers were low. Extremely low, but their spirit and their drive were strong. To Okoye, that's all that mattered. If the spirit was strong than the chances were high of possible victory.
With the location given, Okoye had arrived at Thor's home, their location was the gym he had mentioned. Sparring sounded good. It would allow her to keep her reflexes sharp.
Her Dora Milaje armor cladded her frame, within her grasp would a metal (vibranium) spear as she stood at the center of the gym, her stance steady and firm as usual. Her gaze shifting around the area before falling upon Thor.
-
Thor leaped quickly out of the way, grinning all the while. There was no hesitating, nothing, as the proud warrior woman attacked him. This was good. Reaching his arm out, he called his ax but used magic to turn it into a staff. He did not want to actually harm the general. With confidence, he twirled it around his head and front of his body, using it to gain distance before reaching out with it to try to knock the spear out of her hands.
-
She watched as he turned his ax into a spear. Impressive, she thought. Her own spear tapped on the twice before twirling it within the air and gripping tightly, with the arrowhead pointed firmly in his direction, no expression seem on her features. Never let your enemies (or sparring partner) read your emotions. Her grip tightened as she let out warriors cry before charging at him once more, her spear crashing against his.
-
With a grunt, Thor pushed back, his feet cemented on the ground. Obviously, her powers did not compare to his, but he had gotten used to sparring Midgardians, and felt that she was one of the better ones.
"You understand your weapon well," he said approvingly. "Truly, the stories are true."
-
"I've fought with this weapon since I joined the Dora Army." She'd informed him as the golden spear twisted above her head and was held firmly behind her back. "You are a strong warrior who knows how to handle himself and become one with his weapons. This is good for winning the coming battle." She informed him as she tapped the tip of her spear to the ground and held the flat end towards him. The tip glowing blue as she lunged in his direction with it.
If the tip touches him, he would feel a jolt of electricity. Though, since he's a God it wouldn't do much to him, but to anyone else, it would give them the feel of being tasered.
-
Not only is he a God, but the God of Thunder. It was simple enough to absorb the shock and transfer it to his own weapon, cutting towards her shield.
"That is a formidable weapon."
-
"Made in Wakanda" She replied as she used the shield to block his next hit. Her stance never faltered and her grip on her spear never weakened either.
"You've fought alongside those here. Tell me, are they as good as you?"
-
Thor leaped back easily, pleased with her defense. "They vary in skill set and training. That being said, I am proud to have fought alongside them through many battles, and we have prevailed more than we have been conquered." A proud smile crossed his face as he held his ax to his side, the handle comfortable in his large grip. "I believe you will not be disappointed, although you will have to accept the fact that you cannot order them to do your will. They ...all tend to have a mind of their own."
-
A firm nod was given at his assessment of the others. Her spear held at her side she watched him once more. " So they are worthy fighters and friends. This is good. I would not wish to command them, either. But it is good to know each fighting style." She said with a nod of her head as she came to exhale for the moment. "Come, join me for Starbucks. Your session has been much needed."
-
What was with everyone's obsession with Starbucks? Thor shook his head but smiled. "I am fine. I do not enjoy Starbucks as much as others, I am afraid. My brother teases me that I wish for coffee that is burnt beyond repair, but centuries in battles, making do with whatever we can concoct over an open fire..." He shrugged. "I believe here, it is referred to as 'cowboy' coffee." This was something someone had mentioned to him before, perhaps Stark of Jane, but the concept was strange. Thor was fairly certain he'd never seen a cow before, and if he had, no one had pointed it out to him. What a boy of a cow could possibly be, he had no idea. "I thank you for your invitation though."
-
"You've a brother?" That was news to Okoye. But then again, she still didn't know much about the others here. So it was a learning process. "Will he be with us during this battle?" She asked as she pushed a button on the handle of her spear as the weapon reverted back to a small golden rod that she was able to keep hidden and out of sight.
-
It was complicated. Thor had his own ideas of his brother's involvement, but he didn't want to get into it. "He will make the journey with us, yes. My brother's powers are -- while powerful in their own right -- not necessarily conducive for a full-frontal assault. I believe you have made contact with Darcy Lewis, correct? She is his paramour."
-
Okoye listened and nodded. "What help offered during battle is much needed." Hearing about Ms. Lewis she raised a brow a bit more. "I was not aware of this. And is she a fighter as well?" Asking, since Okoye was planning on leaving before the others with Ms. Lewis to prepare for their arrival.
-
"She has limited skills as she is simply a novice; however, her passion and fire are obvious and unrelenting," he chuckled. "I do not doubt she will be an asset for us, regardless of her actual fighting experience. If you do spend time with her, be prepared for her to demand private lessons or something of the sort. She knows what she wants."
-
A nod was given. "So she is determined, good. I will be sure to be ready for such demands." She replied as she crossed her arms over her chest in an X before bowing her head. "I hope when this is over with, we shall get to spend more fighting sessions together." She replied, no warm expression on her face during this entire session. Okoye wasn't known for her warm demeanor.
-
"I too look forward to that opportunity." He gave a simple nod. "I will see you in Wakanda, then. Thank you for this spar."
-
With a nod of her head, Okoye left the spare room.
