Open! - Soul Dimension
Who: Open to all Soul Dimension dust-ees.
What: a safe harbor for those in the Soul Dimension.
When: sometime after Wanda sending out a mental lure to anyone nearby.
Where: The Soul Sanctum.
Rating: ?

Under a perpetually orange sky, one block of Greenwich Village had been meticulously reconstructed. Roads branched out in New York's familiar grid of streets. They stretched one mile in all four cardinal points - as best as could be determined - floating upon the surface of the water.

These roads all led to the Soul Sanctum, a perfectly rendered recreation, rising up out of the water like a beacon to those who were lost.

Inside, the Sanctum was faithfully copied from Strange's extensive memories. Everything from the demonic fridge (which he had grown profoundly fond of), to the individual pages of the books he memorized. Right down to a voice activated blue tooth speaker, which was currently playing a playlsit that included Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here.'

That is where Stephen Strange was. The doors of the Soul Sanctum wide open, which would have never happened in New York. The sorcerer in his red cloak was meditating in an old wing-backed chair on how to fix the portal problems, and waiting with Wanda for the arrival of those she had reached out to.

Stephen waited until Nick Fury was away until he could greet Peggy again.

"Hello, Miss Carter," he said, as he drew closer. "I'm glad you were able to find your way here. I'd offer you some tea but...?"

They didn't seem to need it, he wasn't hungry or thirsty. He wasn't even sure how long they'd been there. The clock chimed but it didn't seem to be following the rules of time. What was twelve hours felt like twelve minutes. And there was at least one interval where fifteen minutes seem to drag on for nearly two hours. He finished two entire books and the clock hand barely moved.

"There are rooms upstairs and downstairs, if you want one."

Peggy turned her gaze from Nick's retreating frame to find Stephen. "Doctor Strange," She said softly in acknowledgement. "Gods, I do wish I could have some. Even if I don't think I could smell or taste anything anyways." She shook her head, crossing her arms over her chest with a huff. "I do wish we could stop meeting under such annoying circumstances." She waited for a beat before shaking her head. "Tell me you have a plan to get us out of here, or to get word to someone, anyone. There has to be something-" She was at a loss, unfamiliar with the notion of being helpless.

Strange made a hand motion and a cup of tea on a saucer was in Peggy's hands. It was the least he could do. Even if they didn't have a need for it.

"Misery loves company," he said in a wry way. "You can smell and taste, but it's not necessary. I can't tell if we've been here for ten hours or ten days. Time's moving...differently."

Stephen had an almost impeccable sense of time. His wristwatches were an obsession, back when he actually had material possessions. His connection with the Eye meant he understood time down to how precious a half a second could be. This place moved by a different standard. All he could do was keep an eye on the clock in the foyer, and hope it felt consistent.

"We are...keeping our options open. Stark's not here. And I seem to have some piece of a puzzle somewhere that says Stark's supposed to fix something. Somehow. I don't know what it is. And it's only one piece of a larger picture."

A noise of surprised squeaked from her lips as her hands were filled, followed by a contented sigh as she took a sip. She eyed him, listening to his words as she sipped. "Well if Tony is anything like Howard, and it certainly seems like he is, maybe an even better version... then I am not as worried as I was. He will figure it out, somehow." She tried to sound as confident as she could, but she knew it wasn't completely convincing. She did trust Tony however. And Steve. They would figure this out.

"You make a lovely cup of tea, Stephen." She said thoughtfully, nodding toward it. "Or this place just knows exactly how much sugar is needed. You know, before we..." She looked around before shrugging. "No place in New York can make proper tea that I could find. You would think after a hundred years they might get it. It's madness." This entire conversation was madness. This situation was madness. But she had grown used to it a bit so she tried to keep herself as calm as possible.

Taking too long to think about the horrified look on Steve's face, or the sound of Bucky saying her name as she fell in front of them would ruin her if she let it. So she did her best to keep it out of her mind. Mostly. As much as keeping the love of all of her lives out was possible.

"Stark's a...." And Stephen had to pause to stop himself from saying douchebag, but that really would be the pot calling the kettle black. And a few stones thrown at glass houses. "...special person. That I'm sure will put his mind to helping fix this mess."

For a second there, Stephen thought he might have felt a migraine coming on at having to say something civil about Tony. The stasis of this world fended it off.

"I drink a lot of green tea with honey. If you're looking for good tea places, I suggest you talk to Hope van Dyne," Stephen said, nodding over in Hope's direction. "Our resident tea expert. Also an expert in quantum physics. I'll be consulting her shortly. I was hoping to talk to you, since you and Nick Fury are from...were from, sorry...SHIELD."
