What: Walking their dogs at Central Park

As soon as Thor was given the go-ahead to walk around, Valkyrie vowed to be with him as much as possible when he left the house. And so, she glued herself to him like a leech, albeit much more pleasant (probably) and even proposed he come with her to walk his dog when she walked hers. It was a good way to keep an eye on her king and walk Dido at the same time, plus Central Park was a nice place to stretch one's legs in after a long period of bed rest.

As per usual, Valkyrie had just gotten herself a chocolate croissant and even though he hadn't asked, she had bought one for Thor. Their dogs were happily trotting along further down the path, entangling leashes and hopping onto one another, which made Val giggle here and there. She, however, was stiffer and more concerned than usual; her responses were limited to monosyllables, and Valkyrie couldn't stop looking around. She had also brought her dagger. No one would hurt Thor on her watch.

"So, Thor..." She began, swallowing her food as she looked around for the third time in about five minutes. "How does it feel to be back outside? Can't have been easy to have stayed put all that time."

Thor had been given a false identity by Loki. It made him feel less concerned about drawing Valkyrie into trouble. And it was nice to walk the streets without drawing attention to himself. There was something to be said for anonymity, though he'd never disliked being looked at before.

"It feels glorious to be back out of doors! I have never been confined to bed for so long in my life," he said. It had been a difficult year for feeling uncharacteristically frail. Thor ate his chocolate croissant more slowly, not wanting to appear to have boorish manners in front of her. Of course, they'd been living in the same house for a while, so she probably knew all about his manners already. "Thank you for caring for both dogs while I was incapacitated," he added. His hound seemed in high spirits, and was pulling mightily on it's lead at the appearance of a squirrel in the distance.

Valkyrie was enjoying Thor's energy and excitement, as it was always contagious as far as she had seen. She smiled broadly as he answered her question, and then waved off his thanks with her recently free hand. "It was the very least I could do for you. And they get along, so we had fun!"

Thor's dog's reaction to the squirrel was closely followed by Dido's, though neither would have a problem holding the leashes they were pulling. While chewing through the final mouthful of croissant Val tried to calm her own dog. "Steady, Dido! You're not going anywhere."

Of course the dog didn't care. Neither of them did. Val was still admonishing Dido when something fell from a nearby tree, making a dry sound as it hit the ground. It was enough for Val to pull Thor away from the tree and put herself between it and him, causing the dog leashes to entangle. After a moment, Val looked all around them to realize there was no actual danger; finally, Val let out a breath and let go of Thor's arm, which she was still holding behind her back. She cleared her throat and proceeded to disentangle the leashes.

"Sorry, I- I thought..." Val shook her head. "Doesn't matter."
