Val had been too busy climbing the base of the statue to notice people she knew had arrived to watch her climb, like they said they would. It was only when she arrived at the base, realized the statue was made of smooth metal, and heard the thunderous voice of the 'lord of thunder', whom she still liked to call that despite knowing it was 'god' - or so he said - that she realized she had company. And competition.
Valkyrie huffed, but a wolfish grin brightened up her features. This wasn't fair by any stretch of the imagination, but nothing was. "You've got it, Majesty!"
She still didn't know how to climb a smooth, coppery surface, but she supposed she'd have to find a way. Watching electricity flow through Thor gave her an idea. Something about current between opposites...something something. Science. She didn't know where she'd picked it up. But she knew that skin had it and so did copper, or whatever metal this was. So, Val rubbed her palms on her thighs, one at a time, and proceeded to climb, sad that her boots were too well fastened to kick off.
With the help of the Lady's vestments she was up above the book she held in no time, waving up at Thor. Her muscles almost ached, but not yet. She decided to walk across the statue's arm, look down, and wave. And then, why not, wave at the helicopters with projectors pointed at her, who were helping immensely with visibility. Then, she continued, looking up at Thor as she used her considerable strength and flexibility to run up the statue's arm and hold onto whatever it was that connected over her shoulder. "Electricity isn't the exclusive domain of the Lord of Thunder!"
