Darcy put up a hand even before he could finish that sentence. "Nope. No way. Anything that starts with 'if you do what I say then you can' is a giant no. I'd rather put hot burning coals in my eyes than have you lord over me." That was for damn sure. She appreciated Thor and everything, but not enough to put up with him deciding what she could and couldn't do because she lived there. Or holding anything over her head.
He could get whatever maid he could get. She'd live by herself. She'd done it a ton of times. After she parked, she let go out of the car and went to pay for two tickets onto the ferry so they could get over to where the spectacle was happening. The lady claimed that no one was driving a ferry because of what was going on.
So she flashed some money and maybe waggled her eyebrows before the woman finally let them on and told the driver to take them over. There was a promise of getting the woman to come down from the statue, if that helped.
