Christine cast the cloak a little wink. Weird as it was, it was the new normal. She actually liked the cloak now.
She fixed Stephen with a bit of a look, though definitely not as hard pressed as she could've been because he'd relented to getting a martini pretty fast. Though she knew he couldn't drink too much, she also knew one drink wouldn't put him on the floor. It wasn't as though she'd be doing herself any favors by drinking too much either. Though she had the morning off, it wouldn't be the best idea to be half a day through a hangover when she showed up at the hospital for her afternoon-evening shift.
The spin made her laugh, and that felt good. It'd been a while now since she'd last genuinely laughed. It came unexpectedly, as did the smile on his face that he was trying so hard not to show. It was hidden little surprises like those that kept Christine convinced that there was still something worth all the frustration she endured from Stephen Strange.
Her hand stayed in his as they approached the bar. Slowly, she let her fingers slide out from his and placed both of her hands on the bar. She ordered a drink for herself, a sweet martini up, then turned around to let her back rest against the bar so she could watch the crowd. "I almost think you might be enjoying yourself. A little bit."
