"Good," Illyana decided, continuing to suck back that freezer pop. It had to be eaten by squeezing and pushing at the ice - though it also melted quickly, and was almost done. She had a black hole appetite sometimes and even if this was merely sweetened, artificially colored water she'd still eat the entire thing. "It is - a very interesting party. So festive. So much freedom."
Or something - whatever they were supposed to be celebrating here. She had a lot of questions - most of them involved why put the flag on everything? "At first I was not certain why the country pretends like this land is not stolen, but it seems as if that is done for every holiday." Like Thanksgiving too - focus on the made up tales, ignore the truths.
"You look pleasant," she added, fingers pressing in the last bit of slender plastic tube. "So crisp."
