"I don't know about being stuck, per se? All I know is that this city is a focal point," Stephen admitted, taking out a business card with the network name and passcode on it. He held it out to her to take. "There are others like us, many with powers or abilities. This network is where we can safely talk about it, or coordinate in the event of...sharks."
It was better to leave it at sharks and nothing more, because the amount of trouble that sharks could cause when in tornadoes was something Stephen didn't want to think about for longer than necessary. When he did think about it, he started to sound more and more like a overworked substitute teacher. In fact, he was starting to feel that way. Maybe he needed a nice astral vacation. Go find a dimension that never had anything go wrong in it, ever. Boring. Safe. Stable.
The woman he was staring at was none of those things. He could see it in the way she carried herself, in her restlessness. She wanted to go about her business, and he could only hope it wasn't for nefarious purposes. Not wanting to stand in her way, he sidestepped out of her way, the cape gently swaying a little more than seemed necessary.
"I don't want to keep you. If you have any further questions," he offered, "I can answer them. Now or later. That choice best left up to you."
