The Escape - closed thread
As the winged horse swooped down, the portal opened and Stephen gave a nod to the Asgardians.
"Your Uber's arrived," he said dryly, moving aside so Wanda could walk through, holding out a hand to help her take a step up into the Sanctum. He would take her anywhere she wanted after this. "Valkyrie. Lady Sif. Have a safe trip back to Asgard."
Even wearing Sif's face, Loki glowered but said nothing, only gave a curt nod and that was all. It saved everyone a debate. Stephen wouldn't doubt that if anyone tried to follow the pair, the Valkyrie would take care of it. They would be safe. After all, they were the stuff of gods and goddesses, of old magic that was lost to this world long ago. From here, it was wise to split up. From here, they were on their own.
Even if he wouldn't save Loki before - that was against his 'I won't help you if you do reckless things' rule - he wasn't actively helping Loki in this.
He was helping Wanda, which is where his focus immediately went to. Wanda made her own choices, but it didn't mean that he was going to desert her because of them.
