Shuri & Tony - science talk!
"Yeah, that domamarroo or whatever it's name was. Trying to eat the planet. That's not scary at all," Tony said, rolling his eyes. At this point, there was a whole lot gunning for them.
He thought about what she was saying, mulling it all over. It was a lot to think about, but in a very good way.
"Well, it's Asgard's fault they hid the Tesseract here in the first place, back in World War Two. That's how my dad found it, while looking for Cap. But why here? If it's a crossroads, isn't Odin this all-knowing dude back in the myths? Why hide it in the one place everything was gunning at, if....sonnuvabitch." It suddenly occurred to him like a light bulb being flipped on. "If it's not a coincidence, then the only other reason would be that Thor's cranky ass dad did it on purpose. He planted it here knowing what would happen. But that doesn't mean he knew about Strange's weird cult having the Time Stone here, already. Odin only had one piece. Putting Time and Space together on one planet is still kinda like a red flag, isn't it?"
He shook his head a little like rattling those thoughts around in his head, and see if anything else came of it. Nothing that made sense at present, but bouncing it off her might help. At least until she could corner Strange and ask.
"That makes sense," he told her. "If the stones are condensed aspects of what makes up our universe? Using the Time stone to defeat a dimensional incursion, a forced overlap in time and space, would theoretically cause a ripple through the universe. That's a major event, way more than someone messing up your Egg Foo Young. If Strange didn't know what he was doing? It's possible it was like throwing a wrench into the quantum mechanics. It could cause a fracture to form. But no one would know if a new universe was made and they veered off at that moment. No, there was a delay. And veering off would lend into that whole Mandala Effect thing that Reddit loves. But this is different. You said a cosmic trouble magnet, right? What if our magnet went into overload because of this rift, and we're sucking in more than our fair share."
He reached in and popped a couple of blueberries into his mouth, chewing.
