Who: Trish Walker & NPC co-workers [Narrative] What: Oh nothing just a dimension shift, a one-person earthquake, Trish's triumphant yet dizzying arrival. When: This morning Rating: Green
Things were quiet. Too quiet, if one was cynical enough, but Trish was just glad for however long everyone had to live a relatively normal life. All that went on were the odd conversations with Jessica, who was trying to get Alias off the ground more officially, and work. And a bunch of weird events that were now part of everyday life. She and her team were trying to find the themes for upcoming Trish Talk episodes that were both interesting and widely appealing, and Trish had decided to tackle gun violence and the uprising of students in Florida - which Zack was trying to talk her out of. Trish refused to budge, saying that even as a gun owner herself she thought it was about time (no, it was way past time) that people stopped ignoring these things and did something - and that included them.
Mid-sentence, however, Trish stopped talking as she began hearing her heartbeat on her eardrums, blood rushing to her head very, very fast. She didn't get panic attacks; not anymore. And she recognized those - this wasn't one. But the sudden sweating, the accelerated heartbeat and dizziness were all there. Trish held onto her table like an earthquake had happened, although in front of her no one else seemed to notice. After a moment, it passed. For a second there, however, and Trish wasn't crazy or high - never again - things felt like they were shifting. Things in general. The whole world, she wanted to say.
"Trish? You okay?" Asked Zack, apparently noticing that she had disappeared for a second there. Back to reality, Trish studied his and Nicole's faces, assuming by their mostly confused expressions turned to her that no one else had felt whatever that was. Slowly, she released her firm grip on the edge of the table, placing her hands on her lap with a smile. "Yeah, yeah I'm fine."
"Maybe we should pause for lunch, huh?" He suggested. Trish wasn't hungry; a healthy breakfast was a very important part of her daily routine, but Trish would appreciate the time to reassert... everything. She nodded.
"Yeah, good idea." Guessing what he thought she might be going through, she added, "I'm feeling a little lightheaded anyway."
She was; but this wasn't about food. Whatever it was about, however, Trish had the feeling it wouldn't just suddenly reveal itself. But it would end up coming to light. It always did.
