Who: Darcy Lewis & Wanda Maximoff
What: Wanda needs some help
When: last night
Rating/Warnings: Yellow/references to sexual activity without being explicit
Wanda was almost certain that when Darcy said she would hook up with any of the Avengers, it did not include her. The idea was ridiculous, but then again, they’d had that conversation over pizza about Darcy being into both men and women. So maybe she meant it, maybe she didn’t? It was just so stupid...
But really, at this point, Wanda was willing to push aside her awkwardness and potential humiliation and find out. She’d read about how in the second trimester of pregnancy, that was when a woman generally felt her best - the nausea had passed, she was able to keep food down, her hair and nails were shiny, her breasts were a bit bigger. And she was, pardon the phrase, horny as hell.
Wanda was beginning to experience all of that for herself. And while she would generally prefer someone of the male persuasion to help her out, she was not about to work off some sexual energy with a stranger. The men she did know were taken or not interested, most likely. So, seeing if a female friend would help her was what she would do - and who knows, perhaps she’d really enjoy it with a woman? Women knew other women, after all. Sometimes a man needed to be smacked with a clue-by-four.
She was not going to just show up at Darcy’s place and ask if she wanted to...be Wanda’s first girl experience. That was a little much. So she started with planning to go over just to catch up and baking a batch of honey orange cookies - she liked them, hopefully Darcy would too. There was always a bit of a crunch, some zest, and a little acidity. She had a box full of them when she knocked on Darcy’s door, wearing a green dress printed with yellow florals; ‘boho chic,’ she’d call it. Her usual style.
***
Darcy wasn’t expecting company, but since whoever this was at least had better manners than Loki, she opened the door and smiled when she found Wanda standing on the other side. “Hey! Come on in,” she said, ushering the other woman inside and over to the sofa.
“Are those cookies?” she asked, eyeing the box that Wanda was carrying. Her cookies were legendary. “Should I put on coffee? Or, wait, no, you probably can’t have much caffeine. I can make tea. You want some tea?”
Yes, she was babbling a little. She was worried about how her friend was handling the whole pregnant with twins without the daddy thing though.
***
“Tea would be nice, thank you,” Wanda smiled, setting the box on the coffee table. “They are indeed cookies - I just made them.” But it was true, she hadn’t had a cup of coffee in ages - for the most part she preferred tea anyway, yet iced coffee was a morning treat she sorely missed. It used to provide a little pep to her step when she was tired after being up late studying. Now, it was no more - or at least for the next few months.
She settled on the sofa, tucking one knee over the other and adjusting the hem of her dress slightly. “You have been doing well? Since we all got back from the flood mission?” Darcy had been here in NYC, and it was helpful to have multiple people at central communications. Overall everyone seemed to be fine after the mission, if never wanting to be caught in a rainstorm ever again.
***
Coffee was an integral part of Darcy’s life and she couldn’t imagine having to give it up, even temporarily, so it was probably a good thing she had no intentions of ever getting pregnant. Then again, she was pretty sure that Wanda and Vision hadn’t exactly planned this either and she made a mental note to reach out to Christine or Bruce about getting a new IUD.
“Oh, yeah, I’m doing well,” she said, going to the kitchen to put on her tea kettle and pulling out several boxes of tea bags. “I’ve got mint, raspberry, and chamomile in decaf,” she said. “Which one do you want?”
She fussed with getting out mugs and making sure her sugar bowl was full as they talked. “How about you? Everything going okay with the babies?” As curious as she was, she was determined not to ask how Wanda got knocked up by a robot.
***
Wanda’s scarlet-painted mouth twisted up in a wry smile. She didn’t mind people asking about her pregnancy, or the twins - anyone who knew Vision subsequently knew what he was. He had been able to pass as human very well, yes, but that was just to outsiders. “They are doing well - I got to hear the heartbeat at my last appointment,” she said, then added, “Raspberry, please.”
That sounded good. Food held new appeal all of a sudden; it was like the clouds parted and sunbeams touched everything, now that she could actually eat without throwing up. So far, the second trimester was much preferred over the first. “The way the pregnancy happened was very...unconventional. But I seem to be experiencing all of the side effects and changes any woman would.”
***
Okay, so maybe she was wrong and they had planned this. In fact, that would probably make a lot more sense than an accidental pregnancy in their circumstances. “Oh?” Darcy asked, turning so she could see Wanda from the kitchen. Since the other woman opened the door, she was absolutely going to walk through it.
“I mean, it’s good that it seems to be normal, though I’m well aware that the side effects can be… unpleasant.” That was putting it mildly. “How did it happen then, if you don’t mind me asking?”
***
“Vision and I talked about wanting children,” Wanda said, tucking some hair behind her ear, just for something to do with her hands. That wasn’t anything related to the crimson glow of her powers. “But we assumed it would never happen. Then, we were on a mission together - stopping Cthulhu cultists from opening a portal with dark magic they had no idea how to use or control. I closed the portal but something latched on to me. Some kind of demonic force, some...entity. The pregnancy is likely a result of that and me and Vision’s own force of will.”
Demon magic was powerful, as she knew now - she’d done in-depth research, consulting both Loki and Stephen; they would do something about it, combined with her own magic which was essentially a wrecking ball in and of itself, but they had to tread carefully.
“I am not going to birth demons,” she assured, with a dry chuckle. “Stephen is helping me with...removing that part. So the babies are safe.”
***
“Wow, that sounds intense,” Darcy said. She was glad that Wanda and the babies were safe though. No matter how good the Avengers were, she didn’t think any of them would be capable of harming an infant, no matter how dangerous it might be.
The tea kettle whistled, so she quickly filled two mugs with steaming water and carefully carried them into the living room, handing one to Wanda and wrapping her hands around the other as she settled into her favorite chair. “Is it too early to know the sex?” she asked.
***
Wanda took the mug with a thanks, blowing on it a little to cool it. The box of cookies was opened up and she took one to have with her tea - though that was the only cookie she’d have. The rest were for Darcy (reaching for a cookie was just to get the ball rolling, you see).
“I won’t know the sex for a couple of weeks,” she sipped her tea, a satisfied sigh escaping her. It was nice to enjoy another flavor besides ginger - which, for awhile, had been the only thing which stopped her nausea. “Christine is my doctor, she’s been very helpful. I am just - I am going through a lot of changes...”
She flushed pink at that, because she made it sound like puberty or something. Awkward.
***
Darcy was more than willing to share the cookies with Wanda, especially since she’d been the one to make them. She grabbed one and took a bite, closing her eyes to savor the taste.
“I’m sure it’s less awkward than having Bruce all up in your lady business,” she said once she’d chewed and swallowed the bite of cookie. Christine was friendly and fun. She figured that Doc Angry and Green would be all clinical and precise. Blah. Who wanted that?
Pregnancy sounded like it was supremely uncomfortable though. “Anything I can do to help you?” she offered.
***
Bruce up in her lady business, oh, no - Wanda almost choked on cookie crumbs just picturing it. No doubt he would be professional about it but she just could not forget the one time he threatened to choke her to death (probably with good reason; she made a lot of mistakes in her youth). In a perverse way she had always respected him because he had the balls to threaten her though, during a point when everyone else treated her like a ticking time bomb.
Still, he did not need to be putting metal instruments up her vagina anytime soon.
“Well, I just - my hormones are very much out of control,” she set down her tea mug and smiled apologetically, as if that would make up for this word vomit that was forthcoming. “I don’t know what to do, I’m - did you mean it when you said you would hook up with any of the Avengers?”
A pause, as she twisted her hands in her lap. “Even pregnant ones with a libido they do not understand?”
Sure, she supposed she could take care of business herself. But that was like going for a fast food cheeseburger instead of something expertly crafted in a pub someplace.
***
It took a second for Darcy to understand what Wanda was asking. As soon as she did, she set her mug aside and moved to sit next to her friend. “If you’re asking me to help you take the edge off of some pregnancy induced horniness, the answer is hell yes. Not because you’re an Avenger, but because you’re my friend. And you’re hot.”
She was kind of shallow that way, but honestly, Darcy just enjoyed sex and didn’t need it to mean anything.
***
“Thank you,” Wanda chuckled nervously. She meant ‘thank you’ for the friendship and saying she was hot - because some days when she was lounging around in clothes too big for her with snarled hair and no makeup on, just thinking of how she was going to look like she swallowed six basketballs soon, she didn’t feel hot. “I think you’re hot too?”
It was amusing to say with her accent curling around the words, plus it came out like a question. She didn’t mean it as a question, however. She was simply...anxious.
Wanda also liked sex. She didn’t need dolphins forming a heart shape or a bed scattered with rose petals - mostly, her one requirement was that this was someone she knew (well, that and they were willing, obviously). But she was alone and pregnant and lots of things were happening to her - no, it didn’t need to be anything more than that.
“How do - “ Literally, that was the question. How do. “What do I do first?”
***
“First? You relax,” Darcy said, offering her a smile. “Drink your tea. Have another cookie. We don’t have to rush anything.” This wasn’t her first time with a lady who’d never been with a lady before and she was confident in her skills.
She figured that it would be better if Wanda wasn’t nervous though, so she was going to do whatever she could to make her comfortable. “You can take off your shoes and put your feet up too, if you want,” she added.
***
Taking her shoes off sounded like a good plan either way. Luckily her feet weren’t swollen to the point of marshmallows yet, but they did always seem to hurt a little, especially the bottoms of them. So Wanda slipped out of her flats with a sigh of relief, pulling her legs up to sit lotus-style on the couch and drink her tea.
“I appreciate it, but the cookies are all for you,” she giggled. “I had to bring something. It felt rude to ask...what I asked...and not bring something.”
She’d definitely feel more relaxed as she settled in, now that she got the question out of the way. And it wasn’t like she ever thought she’d be in this position and yet here she was. Life was so weird sometimes.
***
Darcy laughed. “I’d have said yes even without the cookies,” she said. “But, we might want to save them for later.” A post coital snack was never a bad thing.
“You’ve never been with a girl before, right?” she checked. “It’ll be fun.” She’d make damn sure that Wanda had a good time and went home satiated. Being with a woman wasn’t all that different from being with a guy, except for the fact that another woman could usually find the clit much easier than any man could.
***
“No,” Wanda shook her head. “I have not been with many men either. A couple brief, uh, flings back in Sokovia when it was still standing. And here, just Bucky - the version before this one,” she made sure to clarify, since this version did not even seem to know what a woman was. “And Vision, obviously.”
Not like she meant to put her whole sexual history out there, but just in case Darcy was curious? She hadn’t any complaints necessarily about her experiences either, but overall - she sort of agreed with the notion that a woman would know another woman’s body better than a man. There was always that kernel of truth to jokes about how old men trying to regulate a woman’s uterus couldn’t even find her clit if they tried.
“But yes, I think - yes, it will be fun,” she grinned, beginning to blush again.
***
It was a little surprising to hear that Wanda had been with Bucky, any version, since he seemed very uninterested in anything that involved fun. Darcy wanted to ask what he was like in bed, but decided that would be inappropriate. At least at the moment. She did occasionally have a filter that worked.
“Quality is more important than quantity,” Darcy said. “And trust me, you will get quality with me.”
She wasn’t modest in most areas of her life. Especially when it came to sex.
The blushing was cute and Darcy decided to lean over and give Wanda a gentle kiss. Nothing intense, just something light to get things started.
***
Sorry, Darcy, that kind of broke the dam. Wanda was just so bereft of physical affection, especially at a time in her life when she was raring to go 24/7 thanks to out of control (and sometimes scary) hormones - she looked at that kiss like a lighthouse beacon shining across dark water.
That was why, when pleasure sparked in her veins, she lunged across the small distance separating and planted another kiss on Darcy, a proper kiss - more tasting, more skin, lips and tongue (like tea and sugar, she tasted of both). “I have no doubt I will get quality with you,” she grinned deviously.
***
“Well, I think that means we should move this somewhere a little more comfortable,” Darcy said, standing up and holding out her hand to help Wanda off the sofa. This was definitely not how she’d expected her night to go, but she certainly wasn’t going to complain.
