Peggy, to the outside world, held it together valiantly. She didn’t break down and cry at her desk, she rarely got caught looking at his things, and she did her best to become more than Cap’s Girl. But that Peggy was a lot different from the one with no makeup on, curled up in bed with a book alone. Steve was the only person she let her guard truly down with.
