“I wish Howard could see him... see the good he...” She trailed off, chewing for a moment before swallowing. Sometimes thinking about those truly dark moments made her itch. “Losing you hurt Howard more than I can explain, looking at you now I can’t help but think he’d be ecstatic his two lads were as good as brothers.” She put down her form and wipes at her mouth with one of the napkins from the bag before setting it in her lap.
“Now, what’s on your mind?” She leaned one elbow on the table while the other hand reached out to take hold of his. “You have that look on your face.”
