"Well, perhaps I should get you something a little more.. long-lived in the future." The words were very quiet, it spoken more to himself than truly aimed at her, but it was certainly loud enough to be heard. He could not help but feel delighted that she had worked so hard to keep the flowers he gifted her alive. Sitting did help him to feel more grounded, resting his hands on his knees helped him to feel somewhat more stable, at least.
"I see nothing to forgive you for... I always enjoy your presence. Regardless of if you are you, or someone else." There was a gentle teasing to his tone, and he found himself shifting his weight to bring himself a bit closer to her. he watched the way she hid her lips behind one hand, resisting the urge to reach out and take that hand in his own. He pressed his lips into a line as he weighed the risks of speaking what was on his mind, but found he really could not help himself. It wanted to come out so badly, and he feared he might never be able to focus again if he did not risk something. "You have... been on my mind quite a lot," he spoke softly, his eyes lowered and tone all but apologetic.
