He followed her in and ran a hand over his short hair, then absently scratched at his chest, his shirt itching him, as was usual. "Thank you," he said politely as he stepped in and let his dark eyes scan the room. A hint of a smile touched his lips as he saw the remains of the bouquet, wordlessly kicking himself for not having the good sense to bring her anything this time. His hands instinctively dug into his pockets to see if he had anything to cover with, but no... nothing but pocket lint. Oh well.
"They're still alive," he spoke quietly as he nodded toward the bouquet. He nodded his gratitude to Min before he turned his gaze again toward Xiu Mei. He settled down across from her, having stalled a moment as he tried to decide how close to sit, should he settle in beside her? Arg, why was his heart racing? "Oh," he returned modestly, lowering his eyes and rolling his shoulders a moment. "Training has been... well. I have had... much on my mind." He almost said 'you on my mind.' Close call. "My students have been enjoying some much-deserved rest, some have accused that I am as much of a task master as is Master Sato. So... no... not terribly popular," he spoke with a faint flush.
