"I'm glad," he said, a hint of a flush touching his face as he nodded. He felt like a foolish school boy, and yet he could not seem to snap himself out of it. He suddenly wished Sato was there to beat some sense into him, she always seemed to know where to smack him to make the stupid back down. "Well... I know how to use swords, but they are not my strongest... I'm just glad none of my students lost a limb tossing the blades." A somewhat shy smile broke across his features as he spoke, he did have more faith in his students than that, though. Otherwise he would not have allowed them to perform. "It was good to talk to Azah." He added the last bit softly, a truthful tone making his voice somewhat velvet. It had been a very long time since he had seriously talked to any of his family, outside of scolding Zuma, of course.
Then she said she missed him, and his eyes went rather wide, his face flushing for just a moment again. "You... did?" He asked rather shyly, he finding himself leaning his weight slightly more towards her. "Yes I... the Festival is always draining... how has your paperwork been coming?" It was an attempt at steering towards a more comfortable topic, but then she invited him in. His heart skipped a moment as he nodded, attempting to force a calm smile. "I... yes if I would not be... unwanted." Blast, that did not come out at all as it was supposed to. He cleared his throat and rubbed at the back of his neck again. "...Tea would be lovely." Decent recovery.
