"No, you're definitely a brat," Kaja teased, but stepped back to fall in beside the other girl again casually. The Jasmine Dragon wasn't far, but there was no need for them to rush. It was nice outside, and she saw no reason to hate the city streets - she'd spend more time on them than Zuma had, although she wasn't lacking in social standing. It was just... a state of mind. Kaja might have been haughty and proud, but she didn't really have an issue with people without rank. No matter what she might say when she lost her temper with Kozu, she was less snobby than Zuma.
In fact, there was a lot to envy in a commoner's life.
"Rumors, about you, Zuma? Never." She flashed a knowing grin, but became distracted by the distinctive smell of tea before she could carry the teasing any further. Honestly, the smells that drifted out of the Jasmine Dragon had to be some of the most amazing in the city. For the millionth time, Kaja counted herself lucky that her friend didn't mind visiting the shop. It was a wonderful excuse for the fantastic brews, one that she would have been able to utilize much less if Zuma had inherited Kuzo's tendency to hide in the Palace at every available opportunity.
"Let them talk," she finished after a beat or two, lifting the hem of her skirt in order to skip nimbly up to the front doors. "They're going to do it anyway, right? They're going to talk, and we're going to drink tea and shop." For the time being, she was content. Tea and shopping with her best friend sounded like a fantastic afternoon. And they could always talk about running off to join a dancing troupe in the morning.
