He watched her slip out of her shoes out of the corner of his eye, the action making him feel oddly at ease. Xiu was beautiful and delicate, elegant and graceful, seeing her in such a state, barefooted and fresh from a workout, it was humanizing somehow. It made him, who was well known for generally being half dressed and barefooted, feel more connected to her somehow, even if he was neatly dressed himself at the moment. "I would agree with him to some extent," he returned softly, unaware of her thoughts on the saying. He simply had no clue as to what kind of destiny he wanted, he should or even could peruse.
He shook his head, looking rather sheepish suddenly. "I like you very much, Xiu... I am sorry you would think otherwise," he spoke softly before he pushed a hand over his short hair again. "I was raised with these huge expectations... you understand," he added as he glanced to her with a small smile. She was a crown princess, she understood the expectations and pressures that came with that upbringing. "There was so much I was expected to do, to accomplish and..." He sighed and waved a hand to show just what happened. It had all been brushed away so quickly, so easily.
"I am rather envious of you," he added softly, tuning his eyes to the sky. "You know just what is expected of you, you know what your destiny is. I miss that comfort." He turned his eyes to her again as she apologized, brows knitting up. "No... no I do not mind it at all. This has been..." He trailed off as he attempted to take her hand briefly in his own, honesty in his eyes. "Thank you." He did feel better, much more centered than he had since his explosion, if not before.
