"Perhaps you do not need an Avatar." she suggested, moving her arms around to fold over her stomach. "Perhaps you are more like the great General Iroh," that would have made more sense, at least to her as he was not going to get his throne back. "I'm not suggesting that you be a soldier or try and attack Ba Sing Se, but his greatest accomplishments were training Zuko and returning Ba Sing Se to itself, accomplishments that were far beyond his vision when he was your age. You may just have to wait and train and keep your eyes open because your destiny may be one beyond your own imagining." it may not have been what he wanted to hear, but Xiu was a sensible, logical young woman and preferred to see things in such a light.
Kozu was unhappy, that was plain enough. He obviously had a rough week, but she knew that the last decade had not been easy for him, and he seemed to need something that no one else seemed willing or able to give him: an unprejudiced ear. "Would you like to go for a walk in the gardens with me, Ko?" they could talk away from prying ears and if they were side by side he might have an easier time of unburdening himself than if he had to look at her and watch her reactions.
"I was thinking we could talk a bit, if you can stand the way I currently smell," she gave him a sweet smile. "That's why I thought outside may be best." she was willing to listen if he needed to talk, she understood that there were some personalities that needed to talk things out. She had a good pair of ears and generally would keep her opinions to herself unless asked, she wasn't about to run off and announce to the world what was said in confidence. She wanted to help her friend, he needed someone to talk to and she was there, how could she refuse him?
