Bass silently took note of how the young woman moved, quickly but smoothly, the marks of a lady. Still, she did not quite look the part of a lady, the clothing, the way she carried herself, the image was not complete. Interesting. Bass had always loved puzzles. There was nothing quite like tea with a fascinating stranger, but a simple conversation with one would do for a close second.
"You're very welcome--have you had any formal training?" He asked brightly, then burst into a heavy laugh as she made a grab for one of the animals. The monkey-bird let out a shrill cry and attempted to batter her with its wings, Bass quickly stepped back to try and save her the attack. "Oh they're all right," he assured with a chuckle. "Just don't feed them, or they'll start treating you like this," he explained with a quick wink. The bird Sakari had tried to grab rushed to cling to Basim's back, peering over his shoulder at her with what had to be a glare. "Just ignore them for now, they'll go away when they see I don't have any raisins." Apparently he saw no problem with carrying on a conversation while colorful animals explored his clothing for treats.
