Bass was an artist at heart, and while he was not a truly serious painter, he had a great appreciation for those who dedicated themselves to the arts. He much preferred brushwork to sword play, truly a lover not a fighter. He could recognize the talent, skill and art in the martial arts, but they were still not his favorite. He had been putting around the city, looking at little pretty items to decorate his tea shop with in an attempt to spruce it up a little. Without the fancy tea pots and glasses the place looked a little shabby to his mind, so he needed a splash of color here and there.
Someone on the bench caught his eye, and it should have been a passing thing, but he noticed her efforts. Drawing. His eyes lit up a bit, he gathering his shopping bags a bit closer to himself as he quietly moved up behind the woman, looking down over her shoulder and to her drawing pad. He watched for as long as he could before being noticed, a warm grin spreading across his face as he watched her sculpt the figures on the page.
"Very impressive," he spoke, chubby fingers moving to smooth down his shirt. "Gesture drawings are very useful to keep your observation skills sharp." He had been drawing and painting for a very long time and spoke the words with a sagely air. No sooner had he spoken than two monkey-birds spotted him and squarked, one landing on each shoulder. He chuckled as one dug at his hair, grooming him in hopes of getting on his good side, the other climbing half down his arm to try and rummage through his shopping bag for food. "Greedy beasts!" He scolded with a warm chuckle as he looked between the two animals.
