Zuma walked into the Sword and Fan, her head held high as she counted the doors in the dojo. She was looking for the room her friend Kaja normally practiced in, she wanted some fruit pies and a good meal in the city. It wasn’t often she ate in the city, thinking the meals couldn’t possibly be as good as in the palace but she was feeling the need for her friend’s company and a good fruit pie. She had left Princess Xiu Mei to her own devices in the palace, thinking it was time for a break from each other, as well. Too much time together and the quiet, proper girl would get on her nerves and she was trying hard to behave after her brother had scolded her earlier in the day.
She sighed, trying to keep her pace slow and graceful but finding behaving so boring. When she finally reached the room, she smiled in relief before opening the door quietly. She stopped dead in her tracks, the door falling shut loudly behind her as she just let it drop closed without ceremony. The young girl stared wide-eyed at Taro practicing, barefoot, in the room. Really, sweaty had never looked so good she thought and she quickly blushed at the thought. And, just as quickly as that thought had come she felt the need to apologize to him for being rude at tea...but refrained from doing so to keep staring unblinking at him.
Were those rooms always so hot? Maybe they did that to make it harder on the students. For the first time in her life, Zuma was completely silent. The normal offensiveness of him being barefoot and looking so...common didn’t offend her in the least. Common, he looked very common. She would focus on that...if she could think. "I..." She blinked, clearing her throat and feeling her face heating up. "Have you seen Kaja...?" She asked quietly, clearing her throat once more and trying for a forced smile.
