She listened as Princess Xiu spoke and scrunched her face up at the thought of the girl’s parents pushing her to marry. “I think it was a fine suggestion.” She told her with a smirk, laughing at the scene that must have played out. “Are they going to marry you without you even being there?” She asked curiously, frowning just a little. While Zuma knew they both had to marry well, she had never given it much thought and she had never considered that her own parents might not allow her to marry who she wanted when the day came.
“No, of course…” She frowned and slowly sat on the grass, her legs to the side and her skirt fixed perfectly around her. “Not that I know of and I am sure Daddy would tell me if there were.” She pulled some grass up, looking pouty as she looked up at at Xiu Mei. “It’s so weird to think of you married. You aren’t terribly older than I am.”
If she married, they wouldn’t be able to have fun anymore. Zuma wouldn’t be able to get the other girl into trouble anymore. There would be no more spying, no more shopping…surely being married would mean Xiu Mei would have to be more responsible, act like the old ladies did. Oh, Zuma hoped there would be no marriage talks for herself for quite a while. “So, how are we going to get you out of this whole marriage thing?” She asked wickedly, grinning and looking quite naughty.
