Who: Kaja & Ping When: Wendesday afternoon Where: The Jasmine Dragon What: A chance to stare meeting in the local tea house.
It was something of a fluke that Kaja was on her own that afternoon, popping into the Jasmine Dragon between the last of the day's bending lessons and the time she needed to be at the Sword and Fan. She liked to keep her days busy, to always be doing something; if she sat idle too long, the teenage Firebender became restless and moody. To be still wasn't in her nature.
Tea and a game of pai sho was more or less all she could handle. And right then? She wasn't too keen on playing herself, but seemed content to hover around other players at a respectful distance, watching them go about the game. Kaja had never been especially good at it. She was quick and clever... but she had no head at all for strategy, nor the patience to learn it. Still, she managed to keep from flickering around like a rabbitsquirrel. The tea house was calming to her - the combination of fine tea and the good atmosphere, and of course Basim's familiar noise over everything else... it was homey.
Zuma tolerated the tea house because they served amazing tea. Kaja liked everything about it - including getting to watch others play at pai sho. The game she'd been watching ended, and when the players moved on, so did the crimson-clad bender. She approached another table, comfortable with hovering because she recognized one of the players. "I see Xiang has roped another unsuspecting fool into losing a game of pai sho," she teased over the rim of her cup, flashing a smile at the older gentleman. He was her elder, and therefore worthy of her respect and pleasantries - even if he was someone Zuma would consider a commoner.
Really, though. Who wasn't a commoner, when you were the Fire Nation's princess?
