Rating: Uhh... Let's say PG-13 for any language, and I'll change it if need be.

Officer Vasquez wasn't sent out with a partner tonight, which meant that he was patrolling one of the safer parts of town. Okay, 'safest' was questionable, but there were enough superheroes in this area of town that the general opinion was that police were needed more in areas with less supervision. Those officers patrolling alone were mostly Uptown. Which, again, explained Marco.
It wasn't untrue, at least not tonight. Marco's night so far had consisted of writing parking tickets and one noise complaint. Marco didn't mind the lack of mayhem, of course, it just made him feel a little useless knowing the city was quiet thanks to people in spandex.
Having little to do, the good officer had stopped to get some tea (which was always better than coffee, in his opinion) and was headed back to his squad car when something caught his attention. Across the street, in an alley, Marco caught a glimpse of movement. Even as he approached, he couldn't tell what it was, but as he got closer he could hear voices...
