ANNOUNCEMENTS
april (pt 1)
For this month's pcal, we're trying something a bit different than what you're probably used to. We're experimenting with splitting it into two parts.
It's our hope that this allows for the month's plots to feel more dynamic and flexible based on what characters get up to and how they interact with the setting. It also helps us as mods to not bite off more than we can chew since we'll both be slowiatus-y at the start of the month.
We're absolutely jazzed to see the threading that's been going on in IC/OOCs so we've also added a new activity type to activity check: 5 narrative-style thread replies. These are for your prose-y thread style replies on IC/OOCs, flash reactionaries, regular ol' threads, and wherever else the mood strikes you.

Volunteer spots highlighted in blue are special slots that are meatier than the others and usually involve the discovery of metaplot nuggets. They will require some sort of public update that lets the island-at-large know about this; this can be a journal, flash reactionary, or ic/ooc— unless the slot specifies, it's up to you!
These are very limited. To keep things fair, if you grab a special slot this month you won't be able to grab one next month. (But if one is left unclaimed after 48 hours, you can claim it even if you claimed one the previous month.)

📸 Happy April Fools Day! (A casual, catch-all flash reactionary will be posted.)
Anyone who passes by the clock tower in town has their own instrumental theme played for them on the bells as they walk by. (These songs are made up and can sound like whatever you want.)
axel is sitting on a bench in the residential district when they hear an impish giggle that sounds like "Muhuhu" and the pitter-patter of tiny feet slapping the stone as the culprit makes their speedy getaway. They look down and notice... their shoe strings have been re-tied into perfect bows— even better than before!

noah is taking a stroll by the lighthouse when they notice a small stone cairn, about 2' tall, near the water's edge. Was that always there...?
Bloom and grow! A warm and oddly refreshing rain passes over the island, lasting for about three hours. Any outdoor plants and crops the islanders have planted during their stay here have fully sprouted and matured during the rain.

The party starts at 6pm and the entrance is through a mouse hole in the larder of the inn. Anyone inside the inn can hear Rasputin (2022 Remix) being blasted on repeat inside the walls until a reasonable and respectable 10PM.
dylan is checking out the business district and decides to see what the wisps are doing in the small two-story building across from the Charles Perrault statue (#6). Only it won’t open. Or budge. No matter how hard they, or anyone else they enlist, try.
📸 Good morning! gilly wakes everyone in the Residential District up by screaming and pecking on their windows, starting with silas, who decides it’s in their best interest to follow them and ?help? wake the other islanders.
Gilly gives a frantic speech of honks, which only tui takurua understands. agatha nylund, meanwhile, can pick up that Gilly is fearful and seems to be warning them of something. The land aches with anticipation. benji margolis, meanwhile, can sense Impending Danger. but will anyone believe him?
The wisps gathered seem to understand and chime back at Gilly before flying off to hum and dance around each Tale’s home on the island. It’s not immediately apparent what they’re doing until tomorrow when…

When the tremors have settled, kane calls on the villagers and organizes an adventuring party to investigate the source. If they head out now, the people traveling on foot should arrive by tomorrow.
