Fred shrugged when Cait told her that her dad would love her. Ever since she was a kid, she had always been able to look at things and envision them being something else. It had helped her as a physicist and had been part of what had brought her to the attention of Global Dynamics in Eureka. And it helped her at the Warehouse because when she needed to fix an artifact, she could see how it was supposed to be put together.
Now...she was hoping that it helped saved their lives.
She finished another dart just as Cait groaned, obviously in distress again. Turning to her, she reached out to her but stopped when her friend put her hand up. She could see that she wasn't fine, but she didn't know what she could do. Other than finish making the weapons for when MacPherson came back.
"We'll get out of here, Cait," she promised her softly as she got back to work on the last couple of springs. "We'll see John and Jack again, and..." She took a deep breath. "I'm going to tell Jack I don't want to wait any longer to get married."
Just then, she tilted her head as she heard the humming noise Cait apparently also heard. Looking over at her, she nodded. "It sounds like MARTHA. I think she found us," she said, a smile spreading across her face.
Just then, the door clicked as it unlocked, MacPherson opening it up. "All right, I think it's time for you two to coop--."
Picking up one of the spring darts, Fred turned and threw it at him. She didn't even wait to see if it hit before grabbing more and throwing them in succession.
