Caitlin got out of the car once they were at the store. As she waited for Fred to join her, she went over a small list in her head. She knew there were a few football games coming up, and she knew the guys would want things to snack on. All she had to do was remember to lock everything away so Pete didn't eat it beforehand. She adored her cousin's boyfriend but Pete would eat anything placed in front of him.
When Fred finally joined her, Caitlin was about to say something when she heard the other voice. Before she could react, a yellow light flashed before her eyes. Caitlin tried to move but she couldn't. It was almost as if she'd been paralyzed.
Suddenly, she heard to pops and felt something string one of her arms. Warmth started to slowly move through her body, and she felt like she was about to fall over. She wanted to reach out to catch herself but couldn't. Then everything went black.
Caitlin wasn't sure what had happened but the next thing she knew, she was waking up on a hard surface. She slowly blinked her eyes and tried to focus her eyes. When she did, she saw she was in a room and she could see Fred nearby. "Fred?" she groaned as pain ran through her hand.
Caitlin looked down and saw it was scraped up; almost like she had fallen on concrete. She didn't know what had happened, but she knew something wasn't right.
