When Cait told her that she wanted to go to the store anyway, Fred grinned. "Great," she said before hurrying upstairs to her room and grabbing her bag with her wallet and Tesla. Jack was still sleeping, so she kissed his forehead before heading back down to join Cait.
"Oh, God, tell me about it," she agreed with her once they had gotten into the car. "I love the Warehouse, but when that's all you ever see day after day and you can't go anywhere else, even it gets a bit old."
She pushed her hair back from her face, wishing she had thought to grab an elastic band before they had left the boarding house. Soon, however, they were pulling up to the store, and once Cait had parked, she jumped out and circled around to join the other woman at the hood of the car.
"All right, so milk and--."
"Afraid the shopping trip will have to wait," an accented voice said as a man stepped around another car.
