When Artie threw the file on the table, Pete leaned forward to look at the picture. The moment he saw MacPherson's face, his stomach clenched and he felt the blood rush from his face. He knew he was having a vibe, but Pete had never experienced one this strong. It felt like his stomach was tied in several knots and the room seemed to be spinning around him. He could hear the others talking around him but he was too focused on the picture to pay attention.
"Pete? Pete!"
He looked up to see Regan was staring at him. Pete ran his hand over his voice and cleared his throat. "Sorry," he said before glancing down at the picture again.
"You had a vibe, didn't you?" Artie asked. "He's coming, isn't he?"
Pete felt a little unsettled so he reached over for Myka, knowing she would be his strength. "Yeah. It was a pretty strong one, too. I've never felt anything like it before. But I can't tell if he's coming here or not. All I know is he's up to something and it's not good," he said before he glanced at Myka for a moment. He then looked at Artie again. "I think Mrs. Frederic is right with making us stay close together."
"She's supposed to be here soon with some new security measures. We can all speak to her," Artie said before he waved at the food. "Eat up. It'll make you feel better."
Pete looked at all the food and zoned in on the cookies. He knew it wasn't the best thing to eat but sugar was one of the things that calmed him. Reaching over, he grabbed a cookie and slowly started to eat it.
