Jack was glad when his hiccups started to subside. He was still going to get Pete back for messing around, and making him hiccup bubbles. When Artie called them for lunch, Jack took his fiancee's hand and started toward the front. The moment they got to the office, Artie laid in on them and Jack found himself rolling his eyes. He wanted to tell the other man to get bent but stopped when Fred laid in on him.
"That's my girl," he said with a grin before he pulled out a chair. He was pretty sure the last thing on any of their minds was eating, especially now that Pandora's box had been opened.
"Leave it alone," Artie merely said as he started back toward his desk.
"No," Regan suddenly said. When everyone looked at her, she ignored them and continued to stare at her father. "Fred's right. We do our jobs, and we do them well. If there's someone out there that wants to hurt us, it's our right to know, Dad."
A silence fell on the office for several moments before Artie let out a frustrated sigh. He picked up a file and stood from his desk. Coming over to the table, he threw the file on it and looked at all of them. "Meet James MacPherson. He wants the Warehouse and will do anything to get it. I wasn't supposed to let any of you go on assignments, which was Mrs. Fredric was so upset. All of you will be confined to town, the B&B and Warehouse from now on," he said.
"I've seen this guy before," Jack said before he glanced over at Fred and thickly swallowed. "He was the man that spoke to us in Minnesota."
"Just how dangerous is this guy?" Pete asked with a serious look.
