When Fred had seen Myka, she had almost forgotten where they were and called out to her before catching herself. She didn't wonder if that part of the reason that Artie had sent them down to this part of the Warehouse for inventory - to make sure that they stayed quiet.
She still couldn't believe this was happening, though. Sure, they occasionally got a bit silly, but they never didn't not get their work done. They had recovered quite a few artifacts since they had started work there, and Fred herself had actually managed to repair quite a few of them that not even Artie had been to fix. Jack had helped her with all of them too.
So why all of the sudden they could work together, she didn't understand. Had Mrs. Frederic insisted? Again, it didn't make sense, especially since she had recruited all of them in pairs.
But she had said something to him. Something that had caused him to do this.
When Cait came in, she sighed softly and gave her friend a smile, wishing they could tell her more. As they worked, the CD ended, so Fred reached over and restarted it while Myka shook her head.
"He's probably forgotten about it by now, all things considered," she said before looking up toward the office. "Whatever's going on, I don't think this is about us."
"You don't think Mrs. Frederic told him to split us apart?" Fred asked, pushing her glasses up her nose. She wanted to hear Myka's reasons since she didn't think she had either.
"It doesn't make sense that she would just have him take us off field work and stick us in here doing inventory for the foreseeable future. There has to be a reason, and if it were about us and how we've been performing...I don't think we'd even be doing this," she pointed out.
