Grateful that he was not required to stand in front of the great crowd behind Pius, Percy was nevertheless very near where the Minister stood, in the front line of spectators. It would not have done simply to remain in the office when the whole rest of his department would be attending to the Minister at the rally, but Percy could only think he would not know what to do if he saw his family. If pressed, he would have to defend the tenants of the Muggleborn Aid act, even though it meant condemning his parents and siblings to Wizarding tribunal and possible imprisonment.
As if they hadn't already done enough to warrant that yet.
Clasping his hands together so tightly he feared circulation might be lost to precious digits, Percy simply waited for the Minister to begin his speech. He would nod approval when it seemed necessary to do so, and clap politely when the Minister had finished. He was not the sort of man who required a show of bravado to determine his loyalties. That, at least, Percy had to his advantage.
