It was daft to even come, and Lee knew it, but he felt like he should be there. Potterwatch would have to comment, and while he could have heard the gist from someone else, it was different when you were there, hearing it.
It was also complete rubbish.
Thickness was a better speaker than he remembered. He was picking up tips from somewhere, or something along those lines, Lee had reasoned. It was disheartening just how many people were cheering. Lee thought that a lot of it was that people just didn't know. Even with Potterwatch and everything else they tried to do, the Ministry did loads better at filling the Prophet with propaganda, and speeches like this seemed to cater to a false sense of security that they wanted.
He burrowed deeper into the hooded jacket he wore, and turned to slip away before anyone spotted him. Not that he was high on anyone's watch list probably, but he wasn't about to risk it and find out.
