Michael jumped aside just in time to evade Susan's curse. He could feel it whizz past him, though.
Heart pounding rapidly, the Ravenclaw turned around to his fellow D.A. Members and rubbed his forehead wearily. "What does it look like? I found the kids and tried to get them out of here." He had the decency to flush a little in embarrassment. "I thought you were the Carrows and the little girl needed my wand to free the others."
He turned to the girl in question, wearing a reassuring smile. Apparently her efforts hadn't gotten her too far. "I'll take my wand back now, "Michael said and stifled a small grin when she all but shoved it back into his hands. "Thanks," he mouthed and crouched down next to Susan. Time was still of the essence and the more people worked on this, the better.
He was so caught up in undoing the complex hexes on the shackles (no wonder she couldn't crack them, Michael thought absent-mindedly) that he almost reacted too late. The girl, faint with fatigue, collapsed and it was only at the last moment that Michael caught her. He looked at Seamus and Susan. "Help?"
