"We're safer than we would be otherwise," Parvati observed. Aside from The Quibbler and Potterwatch, there weren't a lot of real news on what it was like in the outside world, and the pictures that those two sources painted was rather grim. They were absolutely safer than muggleborns were, they were definitely safer than Luna, wherever she was, was, and they were probably safer than most people outside of the castle. It was something she didn't like to think of often, since her parents were outside of the castle.
"Not that that's really saying much, based on the little news we get from the outside. But, considering that this place is teeming with Snape and Carrow and Death Eater supporters, or at least it feels that way sometimes, there's not going to be any sort of large-scale attack here. So all we really have to worry about are the little things, like detentions and Dark Arts class."
