Nodding in agreement, Percy could have said the same thing for himself. He valued his work very highly, not to mention the fact that staying busy helped him to keep his mind off of other, less savory objects.
Still, this was Penny, and the halting start to their conversation irked the part of him, deep down, that knew their parting had more to do with the world without than the world within. At least it had for him. He cared very much for Penny, it simply hadn't been wise to go on caring, not for her, and not for him.
So here they were.
"Not very well, actually," he said softly, honestly but without any great play of emotion on his features. A waiter stopped at their table and refilled Percy's water glass, looking expectantly at Penny. Percy held his tongue, waiting for the man to pass.
