"Cruciatus?" Parvati asked, feet stuck to the spot as Lavender pulled away and threw herself down on the bed. "What do you mean?" she asked again, urgently. It sounded like Lavender was saying that Daphne had performed the Cruciatus curse, and it almost sounded like she'd done it on Lavender. But that didn't make any sense at all, that a professor, even that professor, would have a student perform it on another. Or that a student actually would. Parvati didn't know Daphne all that well, but she couldn't picture her doing the curse on another student, especially when she was in detention for not being able to do it on a plant. It didn't make any sense.
"What did Daphne do the curse on?" she asked, trying to keep her voice calm as she sat on the edge of Lavender's bed.
