Bill took more biscuits than he probably needed, quite happy to serve as a footrest while they shared their tea. He tickled her toes playfully, comfortable and content, fancying he could hear the sea's friendly growl even though spring hadn't broken yet and all the windows were still shut up tight.
He couldn't help it--his face lit up at her suggestion. "I think that would be great. I mean, especially if you do the inviting and address it to Mum...I'd love to have them 'round and I'm sure she'd be pleased that you were asking." Already he was making plans in his head. "What should we make? We can go shopping first thing, I'll help with the cooking. I'm sure we can find something everyone likes, my brothers will pretty much eat anything you put in front of them."
