Well, Anthony had been quite right. The stairwells did, in fact, move and that caused Terry to be turned around and confused. He knew where he wanted to go. The library. He had no idea where he was. Some hallway with statues and painting… like all of the hallways in the castle. They really did not think the lay out fully through when they decided to make everything look the same and add in stairways that move on already confused first years. Not cool.
As Terry mentally yelled at everything he passed by… the painting, the hanging curtain that was no where near a window, the torches, the stupid nosey cat that sniffed his foot, the ugly suits of armor—his ability to focus slipped away. He found himself staring at a fork at the next landing. He was sure that the right path was to the left. Or was it to the right? He really needed a map. Or they should install a “You are here” sign like the big department stores have in London. Those were always helpful.
As he (finally) decided to climb the stairwell to the left he felt the rumble and groaned. He knew that sound… everything was about to move yet again. In an attempt to rush to the next landing, Terry started running up the stairs. However, he had not expected to have someone standing in the way of his mad dash. The boy heard the sound of thuds and he froze. Darn... he thought as he turned around and saw a girl…
