Lavender tried to imagine for a moment what her life would be like if her parents weren't happily married. She knew she was lucky to have such a well adjusted family and to grow up in a normal household. Even on days when she fought with her parents and her brothers, she wouldn't want to swap her family situation for the world. So, hearing Michael be so vehement about automatically disliking his father was a bit startling.
"Well... " Lavender exhaled hard, not quite knowing where to start. "Well, let's imagine for a moment that he doesn't know you exist. That's not exactly his fault. It's no one's fault, really. You can't flat-out hate the man without giving him a chance. What if he finds out you are his son and he wants to be there for you? Sure, you'll probably never have a typical father-son relationship, but your lives could be richer for knowing one another. Have you gotten in contact with him or anything? I could help!"
