Lavender kept quiet. She had said enough to get the juices flowing, and being such a connoisseur of gossip, she knew when to squeeze and when to be patient. Whatever Lavender had been expecting, however, it hadn't been such a huge declaration. It made her feel bad for being so ruthless and flippant, for associating whatever his secret was with something as silly as a crush.
And so, Lavender answered by dropping her jaw to the ground, her eyes wide. After a few moments, she opened and closed her mouth like a fish out of water as her eyebrows slowly knitted together.
"Wow."
Lavender ran a hand through her hair. "I'm sorry, I lied before when I said I don't lie. I lied about not lying. I didn't see this on your hand, I was just being cheeky. I had no idea it was so massive. I'm so, so so so sorry, but if you need a friend and you forgive my dishonesty, I am here for you," She said in a rush before smiling broadly, giving his shoulder a squeeze, "Well, this is great news! Isn't it? Wait, what do you mean 'it's catching?'"
