Sarah studied the younger girl unobtrusively as the girl, in turn, looked at the pastry case. Sarah realized that the other girl was, in fact, looking at the special case that Frosted featured just inside the door. As Ottery St. Catchpole was a mixed Magical and Muggle community, and the shop served them all, Sarah's mum had come up with an ingenious way to tell which of their customers were which. Knowing if someone were Magical or Muggle helped the Fawcetts serve them better, and also helped to make sure they didn't break the Statute in front of their Muggle clients.
Sarah's mum had cast a simple Muggle-repelling charm on the first case inside the door. Muggles entering the shop saw a large stand full of bright plants and felt a curious urge to move immediately to the second case. Sarah knew from the length of time the girl had been staring at the first case that she was a witch. Choosing not to reveal herself as Magical just yet, Sarah instead responded to the other witch's question. "I'm not sure...I can't say I know exactly what that is," Sarah admitted with a bit of a blush. She knew most things about the shop and what they carried, having helped her mum since she was a young girl, but she'd not heard of that particular treat before. "Can you describe it?"
In the meantime, she moved to the tea selection, and began preparing the girl's beverage. "If we don't have that, could I interest you in something else?"
