Alicia chewed on her lip for a while, considering what Katie had just said. “I don’t know,” she finally said, honestly, “I really don’t. I don’t think I ever really gave my parents the chance to object, and since Sam helped me with the flat...” her voice trailed off, letting Katie draw the conclusions she wanted on that.
“And before they got a chance to object, they had to leave, and so...” she licked her lips and sighed deeply. “Maybe the middle of a war isn’t the best time to make them see reason. At least not by talking?”
