Ernie's Potions homework was particularly tricky that evening. His essay was longer and more frustrating than he had realized it would be, and he was really just too tired to concentrate on it. It was not an attitude befitting the Head Boy, but even he was willing to admit that he needed a break.
He knew that he should have gone to the library in order to focus, but the common room was just so much more comfortable. Especially these days. Resting his head in his hand, he set down his quill and closed his eyes. Ernie could hear a french horn playing from the corner of the room, and after a moment he stood up, heading to a chair close to the source.
He watched Hazel play for a while, not wanting to say anything until she was done. Once she finished though, he smiled at her. "What were you playing?"
